Manchester Ceramics Fair 2025

Manchester Ceramics Fair is coming to the Whitworth 15-16 March 2025. Hosting 28 stall holders, the fair showcases a curated selection of the best independent makers, with an emphasis on ceramicists based in the North.

This year they will taking over the beautiful South Gallery, overlooking the park, and the fair will run for a full weekend. All information is available in the information pack on their website, along with the application.

York Ceramics Fair 2025

The Craft Potters Association always curates a strong line up and this year is no exception with 61 exhibitors confirmed, from Cornwall to Scotland.

Venue: For the third time, York Ceramics Fair 2025 will return to the iconic York Racecourse. This bright and open venue ensures ease of access and on-site parking and has been popular with guests and exhibitors.

Ticketing: To aid with distancing, tickets are issued for before 1pm and after 1pm. Once inside, you may stay as long as you like.

Access: York Racecourse is a fully accessible venue. There will be Blue Badge parking just near the entrance through the Houghton Building where there is a ramp down to the main entrance.

As always, under 16s do not need a ticket.

Craft Festival, Cheltenham was founded in 2018 and is presented in partnership with Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre and Find a Maker. Hosted in the stunning Town Hall in the centre of Cheltenham, Craft Festival presents 100 of some of the countries finest makers plus craft workshops, demonstrations, live music and food. 3000+ visitors.

Sheffield Ceramics Festival

Sheffield Ceramics Festival has been showcasing the work of potters and ceramic artists from the Sheffield area and beyond. They are now looking forward to welcoming you to their 11th show.

In 2021 they began showing at their now  regular venue, the exhibition hall at the wonderful Kelham Island Industrial Museum in Sheffield. Our thanks are due to the very helpful and supportive staff at the museum.

This year approximately 50 leading and up and coming potters/ceramic artists, largely drawn from the environs of Sheffield but also including guest potters from other areas, will be exhibiting and offering work for sale.

Come and enjoy a day out in a vibrant environment, talking to and seeing the work of fantastic potters and sculptors, visiting the museum and eating out at one of the many cafes in the area. See you there.

Whether you’re a returning pottery lover or a curious newcomer, the markets offer something for everyone: browse the one-of-a-kind pieces, meet the makers behind the masterpieces, and discover why this mindful craft is so popular in the city. With the Christmas season fast approaching, get ahead of the last-minute frenzy and buy something that has been made by hand locally with passion, and support small businesses in your area.

There will be street food, from freshly baked sourdough pizza to BBQ delicacies and hot dogs. We’ll have festive drinks to warm you up in cold weather, from local craft beer to mulled wine, and barista coffees, or soft drinks if you prefer to keep it chilled. And last but not least, there will be live music to add an extra dose of festive cheer to the atmosphere.

There will be live wheel-throwing demos on all of the four market days, so you can get up close and see lumps of clay transform into beautiful pottery. For anyone who would like to get hands-on involved with clay, there will be drop-in workshops at the Leyton market on the 23rd and 24th of November.

Each year Turning Earth makers donate special pieces and seconds to raise money for organisations that reflect Turning Earth's vision of building a community with open arms. This year, we’re supporting the potters and craftspeople affected by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast US through the charity CERF+. Look for the charity stall at the market.

Coinciding with a move to a new larger premises, a short walk from Manchester's city centre, Seven Limes Pottery is holding their annual open studio. It'll be a first look at their new space, and is the perfect stop to enjoy a glass of mulled wine while perusing handmade ceramics: from functional pots for daily use to sculptural ceramic art works. There'll be a mix of samples, seconds and old stock at a reduced price and it's also a good opportunity to find out about the studio’s excellent pottery workshops.

This is the perfect opportunity visit their space and find unique gifts, beautifully crafted in the studio. Hackney Downs Studios will also be hosting their Xmas Market in the courtyard that weekend, so come along!

Saturday 30/11 from 11am to 4pm and Sunday 01/12 from 11am to 4pm

They are also running workshops in November, December and January.

Clay Collective is a shared ceramics studio for a small membership limited to 12
— a space to showcase and support artists and practitioners working with clay through a developing programme of events & projects

They occupy a glass fronted ground floor studio within the artist community at Hackney Downs Studios.

The 30th year of Kiln openings and first and seconds sale to the public. This year, Lucas George-Jones, Matty Lewandowski and Alice Wakefield will be joining Lisa Hammond MBE who have been making pots for this event.

There are many ways you can get to Maze Hill. They are in the Old Station Ticket office at Maze Hill on the down side of the line. Just come off the train on the down side of the line and they are the building as you come off the platform. Direct from Cannon St , London Bridge from London but also the Thames- Link train that starts at St Albans via St Pancras and London Bridge. Also on the Elizabeth Line from Woolwich and Jubilee from North Greenwich.

The Kiln Rooms Christmas Sale, London

Open 5-9pm on the Friday and 11am-5pm Saturday and Sunday across 2 venues.

These shows act as a showcase for between 80-100 up and coming artists and designers working with ceramics and takes place across the Bellenden Road and Copeland Park studios. It’s a great opportunity to see a range of handmade work, meet the makers and see the studios where the work itself was made. All work on display is for sale and in buying work you’re helping support the maker’s ongoing practice. Anita and Emile Woolf established Maxability in 2009 in order to enhance the lives of disabled adults in the London Borough of Barnet. They were partly inspired to establish the charity because their son, Carl Woolf, is deaf and physically disabled. Maxability’s mission is to enable participants to develop their creative potential through inclusive ceramics classes. Located in the Flightways Centre near Colindale, Maxability has a fully equipped pottery studio and provides a caring, supportive and creative environment. Maxability became a registered charity in 2015 (Charity No. 1162002).
